Stone Balloon Ale House

The stone balloon is no longer in concert menu it is definitely a gastropub. The food is good they're seating outdoors if you get there when it's not crowded. It's one of the better restaurants on main Street in Newark at present the appetizers they have are delicious and I suggest brussel sprouts. A good place to go with your friends or a nice dinner. Dinner with some friends and a good time. Appetizer shared and entrees individually. Food was good and service fine. Not too noisy and a good night for all.

I've been here for brunch, dinner and just a casual drink at the bar and I recommend this place for any of those occasions. Their brunch menu is fantastic and they have some delicious appetizers and shared plates. The craft beer selection is always amazing and they have some really cool cocktails! My friend and I like to come and get the pomegranate martini, which is only 5 dollars and super tasty! I also recommend their candy bar dessert, it is delicious and a must-try!!

My experience here was the AMAZING! I ordered the Honey Maple Fried Chicken & Strawberry Martini. Our sever was nice, although the bartender Cassie was great. Cassie was concerned that the drink was entered incorrectly so she came to the table to clarify. I was curious about another drink(Peanut Butter Martini), she gave me a sample and I ordered that as well. Cassie came back and checked to see if I was pleased with my drinks. She made the visit awesome.... Go check it out!

Excellent brunch. Drinks are phenomenal and the food was even better. My server was great, I'm sad I forget her name. The host staff was a little slow, I wanted to sit outside and requested a table to be cleaned off but after 10 minutes of waiting I just had to ask to be sat inside. Other than that, I would go back there every day if I could.

First time dining, off to a rocky start. We were told it would be a 20 minute wait for a table without a reservation. We weren’t seated until over an hour later. The food on the “cheap date night” menu was worth the price, but if the quality is indicative of the quality on the rest of the menu I would say the rest of the menu is over priced. Our appetizers came out cold. The chicken in the Tuscan chicken pasta was dry and over cooked. The meatballs definitely didn’t seem freshly made. The deserts seemed like they had been frozen and thawed as the center of the cheesecake was very solid and cold disproportionately to the exterior of the cheesecake. For a restaurant with this environment and price range I would expect they’d serve their creme brûlée cheesecake with fresh fruit rather than weird gross artificial strawberry slop. Overall not impressed.

This was the perfect place to take my friend after axe throwing. It was out first time here & Adam our waiter was nothing short of amazing, sweet, and attentive. He made some pretty great recommendations, we ordered the keg fries, chicken fried deviled eggs and a salmon blt salad all of which were to die for. The atmosphere was very comfortable and relaxing, we had a great time and we'll be returning.

This is my favorite place to eat on Main St. The food is the perfect mix of comforting and innovative that keeps you coming back. Brunch is just as good as dinner and is definitely worth a try. There is a nice outdoor seating area and the service is always good. Ignore the flashier places and "trendy" eateries and give this tried and true establishment a try!

Awesome menu--if a bit pricey. I've brought lots of people here and not once has anyone not loved their meal! The scampi is understandably awesome but so are the ribs, the pastas, and the beef and bacon lollipops ! Cheap date night is always a great deal and even the desserts will leave you hungry for more! The cocktail and wine list is also extensive with lots of options which one wouldn't expect from a place primarily known for beer

It was nice to sit outside in Newark and enjoy a good meal. There are plenty of options on the menu, and the crabcake is a nice choice. Kitchen is pretty consistent with food prep, and the wait-staff is friendly. It always a good experience.

I'm not sure if they're under new management or if they got a new chef, but their menu has gotten significantly more vegetarian friendly! The kettle stack can be done without bacon, and the mushroom ravioli gratinate is heavenly.We went for an early dinner on a Saturday. It was getting busy, but the service was still excellent and the food came out quickly.

There brunch is exceptional. I had the Hot mess and my wife had the Pretezel French Toast. A little dark inside. Make sure they give you their monkey bread with cream cheese icing. It is awesome. Highly recommended for brunch. We definitely will be back.

I’ve only been here once but first impressions mean a lot. Went during their Cheap Date Night special and it was much better than I was expecting. A few friends suggested it and I assumed it’d be a locked-in meal choice, but there were actually a good number of entrees to choose from. The two dishes we had were delicious and for the price were well worth it. Nice selection of beers to choose from. Definitely going back as soon as possible.

Great atmosphere, quick service. The crab cake sandwich was a little salty for my taste but my partner got the black bean burger and it was delicious.

Great beers on tap, great menu, amazing staff. The beer list changes frequently, and they also now have a 32(?) can "crowler" filler, for when you just want a big giant can of beer!!!Menu items are to die for. Their pub fries, and bacon in a cup are amazing, but the real star is the bread pudding. I've had many others, and this is by FAR the best ever. I wish I had the recipe!

Good food very crowded place Friday and Saturday night

Amazing food!!! And fun atmosphere. We had a party of 20 and the service was perfect. Our waiters were on point and we had barely any waits for anything. We also were not the only party there. The kitchen kept things coming piping hot and fresh. The bar tender kept up and everyone had a blast. Highly recommend the stone balloon they have great food and drinks. All unique and I reccomend the bacon lollipops for an appetizer. Go to the stone balloon they wont disappoint

Stone Balloon recently catered an off-site event for us. We have never heard so many compliments about the service at our annual event. The staff was polite, energetic and beyond helpful. The catering team went above beyond to ensure our event was a success. The food was fresh, delicious and nicely presented -- many guests commented that it was beyond their expectations at a large buffet-style event. Chef Robbie, Luke, Erica and team are awesome to work with. I highly recommend them for catering or events!

Great place in college town. Parking is a pain (as in most college towns), but place is on the main drag and usually crowded. I had shrimp tacos with brussel sprouts that were fantastic.

It's a little pricey but it's delicious.

Received delivery.The salmon salad is at least $10 too expensive, and the salmon cut I received was chewy and undercooked. I had to finish it in my oven before I felt comfortable eating it.Sweet potato fries were pretty good.

Interesting American cuisine, a pleasing environment, and a solid bar. Odd musical decorations compared to the aesthetic of the tables and seating. A pleasant experience nonetheless.

Normally very good! Food is awesome, cheap date night is always fantastic (you get a bottle of wine or growler of beer, 2 entrees, and a dessert for only $35!). My only disappointment is coming for Food & Brew. They charge you $4 for a 4oz with your little plastic mug but their regular menu has some of those beers for $3.75 for a 10oz! Cheating customers is never cool so I won't ever come back for that event. Otherwise, I like it.

Great food. I had shrimp tacos. Old Fashion w High West double rye was perfect. Love the wall of past bands that performed there too. Sit in the back - cozy. And service was excellent...Sunday 3/10 ...didn't get his name.

The wife and I came here for date night, for some wine and nosh to narf. We haven't been here since it was still the Wine House. The food was good, the service was good. We just had appetizers. The flash fried broccoli was spicy and the gorgonzola dip was a perfect match. The tuna pole bowl was pretty standard, but good. I had the calamari which was crispy, sweet, spicy and tasty. It was both tentacles and rings, which I love.I wrapped it up with the blueberry key lime parfait. It was a little heavy on the whooped cream, but the blueberry preserves seemed like they were house made.Service was good, though it was a sleepy Friday night. We will return for dinner. Recommended.

Nice twist on classic dishes.$5 drink specials all day everyday. Booth seating for 6 is perfect and comfortable.

Excellent, very friendly service, great atmosphere and reasonable prices. The food was very high quality and perfectly prepared (and we asked for something that wasn't on the menu). Great beer selection and (tap) samples are happily provided if you want to try something different. The area is probably very busy in warmer weather since the street is lined with other bars & restaurants.

The Stone Balloon hosted a running race. The after-race party food was very good and the staff was very friendly to all the runners.

They weren’t willing to make any efforts to accommodate dietary restrictions, the food is super overpriced. Presentation is fantastic but serving portions and overall flavor is sub par.
